With all this talk of labour shortages in the dairy and contracting sectors, the Dealer was intrigued to see Middle East farming giant Almarai is recruiting for senior unit managers on its dairy, poultry and arable farms in Saudi Arabia.
The scale of the business is jaw-dropping, with 105,000 cows and 80,000 youngstock across six dairy farms.
The tillage operation produces 600,000t of hay, maize silage and grain from 30,000ha, while the poultry business produces 200m chickens per year.
