Forward store bullocks were a steady trade on the day, but plainer and older types were a slightly easier trade. Bullocks from 500kg to 600kg sold mainly from €550 to €650 along with the weight. Plainer types were slightly easier on the day.
Angus and Hereford types sold mainly from about €2.00/kg to €2.10/kg with quality having an issue on price. There was an entry of weanling bulls which were met with good demand. Bulls over 400kg sold mainly from €500 to €600 over the weight. Bulls from 300kg to 400kg ranged mainly from €450 to €650 along with the weight.
The heifer trade was solid on the day. Prices paid were about the same as that paid the previous week. Heifers from 500kg to 600kg sold mainly from €1,100 to €1,400. Those with breeding potential received the highest prices. Those from 400kg to 500kg sold mainly from €550 to €700 along with the weight. Weanling heifers were a solid trade and sold from €500 to €600 over the weight for those from 300kg to 400kg. Lighter types sold from €400 to €550 over the weight.
There was some value on offer with light weanlings.
