Empty sheds are driving prices, with 4x4 round bales in Wexford up by €1 to €2 at €10 to €12/bale out of the field, and prices in Tipperary, Laois, Kildare up €2 to €3 at €14 to €15/bale ex-field.
In Louth, straw is “flying out of the place”, at prices of €15/bale for 4x4 round and €31-32/bale for 8x4x3 bales.
In Cork, straw has been sold at €13 up to €15/bale.
