Bord Bia has agreed to take on farmers’ concerns on quality assurance. At a meeting between Bord Bia and the IFA, IFA president Joe Healy said progress was made.

According to Aidan Cotter (CEO), Bord Bia is fully committed to taking farmers’ issues on board.

Commitment has been given on:

  • A new close-out period.
  • A target time frame for farm audits of 90 minutes.
  • Reduce number of issues and questions at audit.
  • Pre-audit questionnaire to be sent to farmers.
  • Remove all reference to market requirements and specifications.
  • Remove all reference to EID for sheep.
