In this week’s machinery section, we feature the first part of our SIMA review. For many attendees, the sight of the autonomous Case IH Magnum was worth the admission alone. It offered a glimpse into the future perhaps, although it is still a long way off.
The other theme at the show was very much tyre technology and integration with machines to protect the soil. Michelin and Trelleborg led the advancements, with BKT also offering an impressive selection of tyre choices. French company Dangreville showed how smart-thinking machines can lead to more efficient slurry spreading in the field.
Also in this week’s section, the machinery team take to the fields putting a UTV head to head with an ATV to see what is the best option for the farm. A number of very useful attachments for these machines can help reduce manual labour and we look at some of the implements on offer.
