A farm of 32.5ac with a house has come on the market at Currow in Co Kerry. The location is about 16km from Killarney and 14km from Castleisland. The general area is elevated but it’s good, free draining land and it’s intensively farmed.

The property for sale is at Ranaleen and it has been brought to the market by Killarney based Tom Spillane and Co.

The farm is laid out in nine fields. Eight of them are in the main block, where the house is. The other field of approximately four acres is some 400m along the road. Access to the main fields are at the house – there is limited road frontage. The four-acre field does bound on to the road. The land is free draining and all fields can be cut for silage.

The three-bedroom farmhouse was built in the late 1970s. It has oil central heating.

The farmhouse has three bedrooms. The sheds in the background belong to the farm next door.

Auctioneer Tom Spillane said that the area has very active farmers and that there will therefore be interest in the land for sale. A number of individuals have expressed interest, he said. The asking price is in excess of €400,000 and this has already been offered. That is equivalent to €12,300/ac.
