A 71ac block of grassland is for sale in north Co Kerry. The land is at Lislaughtin, Ballylongford, on the Shannon estuary. It’s being sold by Dillon Prendiville Auctioneers and goes to auction next month with a guide price of €590,000.

It is being sold on the instruction of the executors of the estate of the late Michael Heaphy.

The farm is about 1km from Ballylongford village, 14km from Listowel and 40km from Tralee.

The majority of the holding – 70ac – lies in one parcel, the other 1ac in a second parcel nearby. The main parcel adjoins Lislaughtin Abbey and forms a boundary along an inlet of the Shannon Estuary.

The land enjoys substantial road frontage, with access off the public road and also off the Abbey road.

There is a registered right of way over the land to access the Abbey and graveyard. The remaining 1ac is located along a shared right of way off the public road.

The land is set out over eight main fields and is described by the auctioneers as good quality. It has been used primarily for silage and grazing. The holding comes with 28 entitlements to EU payment valued at approximately €3,900.

The auction takes place on Thursday 2 December at the Horseshoe Bar, Listowel at 3pm.
