The Carlow to Cork Tractor Club is gearing up for its 16th annual Carlow to Cork tractor run in aid of Children’s Health Ireland, or Crumlin children’s hospital as it’s more commonly known as. The 400km, 20-hour long trip is scheduled to take place on Saturday 5 December.

For this year’s event a song named Cork Bound and Back by Benny Culleton is due to be released Sunday 22 November in aid of sick children in Crumlin. The club feels this new track is sure to go down a treat among tractor loving country fans.

A spokesperson for the club said: “This year we are determined to support the hospital and will make every effort to complete the Carlow to Cork tractor run when it is safe for the public and us while keeping with HSE COVID-19 guidelines.”

The club also does a number of other tractor runs each year some of which arnt just your average tractor run. A number of years ago the club did a 32-county run before last year taking on an extra special run, travelling from a town called Carlow in north Germany back to Carlow Ireland and then on to Cork. In total, the journey consisted of over 1,800km while raising over €111,135 for Crumlin children’s hospital. This achievement brought the club’s 15-year total sum raised to over €410,000.

The club was established in 2005 with the aim of preserving the local vintage tractor scene while raising funds for Crumlin children’s hospital. Donations can be made at www.tractorrun.com.
