Lisa’s big night in Cookstown

Tyrone singer Lisa McCrory will launch her debut cd at a gala show in the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown tonight, Thursday, 29 October. The young lady from Carrickmore will be joined by Hugo Duncan, Johnny Brady, and Country Harmony for her big occasion.

Little Things and What Life Brings is the title of the 14-track album which was produced by Gerard Dornan. She leans more towards the traditional side of country music and lists Philomena Begley as one of her main influences.

Lisa has an ingrained love for the music and her debut single was I Just Want To Be A Country Girl. The follow-up was an excellent rendition of the old Larry Cunningham song, Good Old Country Music, which really showed her ability to handle a country song with panache and style.

“The last few months have been very exciting for me and I have been so lucky to get great support from so many people,” reflects Lisa. “Radio stations have been very kind to me and my video has featured on several of the country shows on the Sky channels. I have also performed as a guest on shows that feature such singers as Johnny Brady, Mike Denver, Hugo Duncan, Gene Stuart, Paul Kelly, Philomena Begley and I also very much enjoyed a stint on the Dominic Kirwan – Mary Duff tour this year.

“I have been looking forward to this album for a long time. It will be a real dream come true for me, but it would not have been possible without the support of my family. I hope now that the launch goes well,” says the pleasant ad unassuming young lady.

Kerry on a Winning Streak

Northern lass Kerry Fearon is on a Winning Streak. That’s the title of her brand new single, an upbeat tempo song originally recorded by Ashley Monroe.

The song is the follow up to What Would Dolly Do, which saw Kerry record one of the most humorous country videos of 2015. The current single is also produced by Wayne Golden and the very talented Scott Newstead is on keys.

“It has been a whirlwind of a year for me since my first stage appearance back in March at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast to do support for Dominic Kirwan and Mary Duff. I appreciate all the support throughout and I am looking forward to being one of the finalists in the upcoming series of Glór Tire, where my mentor will be John McNicholl,” says Kerry.
