Ballinasloe-based auctioneer Joseph Naughton, has a pair of farms on the market in the Athlone and Ballinasloe area.

First up is a 40 acre holding for sale in three lots. Lot 1 comprises circa 20.5 acres of grazing ground at Cappahuse and includes a three-bay slatted shed and cattle handling facilities.

The land at Faltia is presently all in grass.

A short distance away is Lot 2, circa 11.95 acres of grassland at Faltia, Oldtown, and Lot 3 is circa 8.2 acres of bog at Cappahuse. While there has been no offer made on the bog, Joseph Naughton reported huge interest in the grazing lands at Cappahuse and Faltia, Athlone, Co Roscommon. The parcel at Cappahuse is guided in excess of €11,000/acre, while the land at Faltia is on track to sell for over €14,000/acre.

A three-bay cattle shed with cattle handling facilities are included in the offering at Cappahuse, Co Roscommon.

In Galway, he has a circa 66 acre farm at Gortluskey, Killimor, Ballinasloe, for sale by private treaty. Located 6km from both Killimor and Portumna, the land was leased out and used for tillage in recent years and had grown exceptional yields. It is expected that it will make in excess of €7,000/acre.

Also listed with the Ballinasloe-based auctioneer is 89 acres of commonage in the Gort and Loughrea areas; it includes some Burren winterage ground. For sale by private treaty, it’s guided at €1,000/acre.
