If you’re not eating field mushrooms for breakfast, dinner and tea this week you are doing something wrong. I was out checking stock on Sunday and the field was absolutely pickled with them. I got a whole bucket full.

Weirdly enough, they never grew in this field before and, last year, no mushrooms grew at all. Anywhere. Does anyone know why they come up in certain fields and not others? Or why they are plentiful some years and not others? Answers on a postcard.
