Gardaí seized 10 dogs that they believed to have been stolen following a search at a property in the Rathkeale area in Co Limerick on Saturday. The gardaí were assisted by Limerick City and County Council’s veterinary services and dog wardens.

The search found a large number of dogs on the property but no dog licences or proper identification papers. Ten dogs, labradors, springer spaniels, English setters, Cavalier King Charles and huskies, were seized by gardaí and are currently being cared for in a local shelter.

Gardaí have since reunited one of the dogs with its owner. The dog was stolen in the Dromcollogher area of Co Limerick on 9 June.
