The autioneers sold a residential farm at Tromra, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath last week, in lots.

  • Lot 1: the residence and yard on c49.5ac made €625,000.
  • Lot 2:c16.5ac of land in one division, sold for €235,000.
  • The same auctioneers sold a residential farm at Cartron, Durrow, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

  • Lot 1: the residence and farm yard on c.49 acres sold for €400,000.
  • Lots 2,3 and 4: totalling c69.5ac, made €820,000.


  • Jordan Auctioneers & Leinster Marts

    Joint agents Jordan Auctioneers and Leinster Marts held a successful auction of 220ac of land in south Kildare in lots. The combined total reached was €4,018,000 or €18,263/ac.

    “Most of the buyers were local based farmers involved in both tillage and livestock,” auctioneer Clive Kavanagh of Jordans said.

    The lots sold as follows:

  • Lot 1: c43ac with yard, Ardree, Athy €870,000
  • Lot 2:c12.5ac Ardree, Athy €288,000
  • Lot 3:c18 acres, Grangemellon, Athy €428,000
  • Lot 4:c42ac Grangemellon, Athy €722,000
  • Lot 5:c13ac Grangemellon, Athy €70,000
  • Lot 6:c91ac Inchaquire, Ballitore €1,640,000


  • Quinn Property

    Quinn Property auctioned a number of properties in Co Wexford. 81ac at Ballykilty opened at €400,000 and it went on the market at €680,000. It was sold at €1,020,000 to a local dairy farmer, equal to approximately €12,000/ac.

    Seventeen bidders took part in the auction of a 3.5ac holding at Scarnagh, Inch. It went on the market at €150,000 and was sold for €172,000 to a local couple.

    A 24ac holding with derelict cottage at Clologue Upper, Camolin sold in lots.

  • Lot 1: of 10.5ac sold for €225,000 to a local farmer with business interests.
  • Lot 2: of 13ac sold for €180,000 to a local farmer.
  • Lot 3: the derelict cottage on 1ac sold €92,000 to a local couple. The total for the property was €497,000.
  • Quinn Property also auctioned 19ac at Wells, Gorey. It was withdrawn at €250,000 but sold afterwards for a higher price.



    Murtagh Bros

    A 7ac field located between Ballykeeran and Glasson village in Co Westmeath was auctioned off for €195,000 or €27,857/ac. It has good views over Lough Ree.
