The World Shearing Council’s Golden Shears 2022 competition has been awarded to the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS).

The announcement was made this week at the 2019 Golden Shears World Championships in Le Dorat, France, and means the competition will be at the Highland Show in four years' time.

Process

Commenting on the successful bid process, RHASS chief steward of shearing Bruce Lang said: “It was a really strong presentation from the experienced RHASS team that built on the experience and knowledge gained from the successful delivery of the Golden Shears competition held at Ingliston in 2003.

Representing RHASS, Bruce Lang took part in the Golden Shears closing ceremony in Le Dorat, receiving the championship shield traditionally held by the host city.
