Euro Auctions based in Dromore, Co Tyrone, hosted a machinery clearance auction on Saturday 21 January. The sale was held on behalf of Maguire Agri Contracts based near Trillick, Co Tyrone.

With 95 lots in total up for grabs, the hybrid style auction took place both online and in person bidding via ringside at the Euro Auctions Dromore site, Co Tyrone.

A recent business restructuring saw the full range of equipment surplus to requirement. All lots were sold unreserved grossing €2,164,182 (£1,910,140) before VAT and commission.

Having gained a lot of traction ahead of the sale, bids on the day were placed from all across the world.

Bidders

According to the auctioneering firm, almost 1,000 bidders were registered from 44 countries.

Aside from Europe, bids were being placed from the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Lebanon and other countries including Australia, New Zealand and Canada as well as on the African continent – Ghana, Tanzania and Kenya.

The 2018 Claas Jaguar 970 with 2,682 engine hours and 1,936 drum hours sold at €169,950 (£150,000) plus VAT and commission.

The 2015 Claas Jaguar 950 with 3,063 engine hours and 2,238 drum hours sold at €141,625 (£125,000) plus VAT and commission.

This 2021 John Deere 6250R Ultimate Edition with 1,375 hours sold at €169,950 (£150,000) plus VAT and commission.

This full spec 2020 John Deere 6155R equipped with Greenstar and 3,888 hours sold at €87,807 (£77,500) plus VAT and commission.

A 2016 and 2018 John Deere 6145R with 10,160 and 7,126 hours sold respectively at €48,152 (£42,500) and €60,048 (£53,000) plus VAT and commission.

The majority of equipment was sold to the republic of Ireland, Euro Auctions confirmed.

This included some of the more substantial lots such as the Krone Big M 450 which topped the sale at €226,600 (£200,000) plus VAT and commission, the John Deere 6250R and JCB 419S.

Meanwhile, some of the other major lots sold overseas including the Claas Jaguar 970 which sold to a Chinese company and the Jaguar 950 which is destined for Belgium.

As expected, based on condition of the lots offered and the current trade, all machines achieved strong prices. Maguire’s haven’t been the only contracting business to exit the sector and will likely not be the last before the silage season kicks off.

Three 2018 John Deere 6155M tractors with hours ranging from 5,760 to 6,443 sold for €55,517(£49,000) while a fourth with 4,864 hours sold at €56,650 (£50,000)

This 2020 JCB 419S with 1,174 hours sold at €113,300 (£100,000) plus VAT and commission.

This 2013 JCB 416S sold at €56,650 (£50,000) plus VAT and commission.

This 2015 JCB TM320S sold at €48,152 (£42,500) plus VAT and commission.

This 2021 32 row spacing Moore Unidrill sold at €28,325 (£25,000) plus VAT and commission.

This 2021 Claas Liner 3600 four rotor rake sold at €45,320 (£40,000) plus VAT and commission.

Two 2021 and one 2022 Smyth SC35 Supercube 16t silage trailers ranged in price €18,128 (£16,000) to €22,094(£19,500) plus VAT and commission.

Two 2021 Johnston 14t silage trailers sold for €11,613 (£10,250) each plus VAT and commission.

This 2020 SlurryKat 14t silage trailer sold at €15,012 (£13,250) plus VAT and commission.

This 2021 McHale Fusion 3 Plus with a bale count of 9,732 bales sold at €65,147 (£57,500) plus VAT and commission.

This 2021 Doda SlurryKat slurry pump was one of two sold at €6,514 (£5,750) and €7,648 (£6,750) plus VAT and commission.

A 2018 and 2020 Redrock 4000 gallon tandem axle tanker sold respectively at €32,857 (£29,000) and €41,354(£36,500) plus VAT and commission.

Two 2021 12m Slurryquip dribble bars with flowmeters were sold, one system with 1,200m of hose sold at €33,990 (£30,000) while the second with 800m of hose sold at €27,192 (£24,000), both were plus VAT and commission.

This 2017 SlurryKat 2500 gallon slurry tanker sold at €14,729 (£13,000) plus VAT and commission.

This 2021 Claas Liner 2800 rake sold at €26,059 (£23,000) plus VAT and commission.

This 2020 B870CV rear butterfly mower combo with groupers sold at €36,822(£32,500) plus VAT and commission.

All lots in the sale were subject to VAT at 20% plus commission which was charged at 10% up to £4,500 and 2.5% on the balance. Exchange rate used was €1.133/£1.
