Beyond the Barricade – 21 September: If it is a night of musical delights you’re after, Beyond the Barricade is the show for you and it’s coming to Dublin’s The Helix for one night only. The show will include over two hours of songs from the most well-known movies like The Lion King and Phantom of the Opera that have made Beyond the Barricade one of the most popular musical theatre concerts. The vocalists in the show have all played principal roles in Les Miserables, in both West End and national tours. Riverdance – 18-22 September: The world-famous Riverdance comes to the INEC Killarney for a limited run from 18-22 September. What began as an interval act at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest has since played over 11,500 performances to over 25 million people throughout 47 countries. A flawless fusion of Irish and international music and dance, this show will feature the Riverdance lead dancers, Riverdance Irish dance troupe, the live Riverdance Band and international artists from Russia, Spain and the US. Grounds for Concern – 12-13 and 18-19 September: Croke Park hosts this visceral and moving play, which explores mental health in young men in Ireland. Drawing on the real-life stories of Gaelic football players, it is directed by Elif Knight and written and performed by Alan Bradley. The humorous piece asks the audience to support the young men of the country in a more positive way. Rambo: Last Blood – 20 October: Directed by Adrian Gunberg, Rambo: Last Blood is due to hit our screens on 20 September. The highly anticipated action-adventure film stars Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, who must now confront his past and rediscover his ruthless combat skills in order to enact revenge in a final mission. Almost four decades after his first mission, this deadly journey marks the final chapter of the legendary series.
Mary Black – 21 September: The legendary Mary Black comes to the Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick, for one night only on Saturday 21 September. One of the most famous Irish folk singers, Mary Black is part of a very musical family, with her own children Danny O’Reilly, The Coronas front man and Róisín O carving out careers of their own in the music industry. Mary and the band will play favourite songs from her catalogue spanning over 30 years, including No Frontiers, Song for Ireland, Past the Point of Rescue, Carolina Rua, Katie, A Woman’s Heart and many more.
