Longford-based Glennon Brothers has been named 'Softwood Trader of the Year'.

Employing over 500 staff, it helps support and boost rural economies across Ireland and the UK.

In addition to winning the 'Softwood Trader of the Year' award, the company was also one of three finalists selected for the 'Smart Manufacturing' award.

Thrilled

Joint managing director of Glennon Brothers Mike Glennon commented: "We are thrilled to win the prestigious Softwood Trader of the Year Award, particularly in such a highly competitive market.”

Over the past two decades, the company has invested over €100m in its four sawmills in Ireland and Scotland, offering one-stop-shop production to Irish and UK markets for the construction and fencing industries.

Push limits

It continues to push the limits of machinery and technology to produce homegrown timber to the highest international standards.

The company is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and has gained forestry stewardship council certification for its products across all processing sites, ensuring all timber is sourced from sustainability managed forests.
