Last week, we had our first special autumn-born weanling sale in Ennis and the sale was better than I had hoped. Heavy feeding bulls were only back 6c/kg on the same sale last year and good-quality bulls were a similar trade. Tuesday’s sale saw a slightly mixier show of weanlings, but the trade was still good for the better-quality continental types. Plainer-quality heavy bulls were a little easier though, with some struggling to get into €2.00/kg. Store cows were quite a steady trade on previous weeks, with plenty of demand for all types.
