After months of speculation, Kerry Group CEO Edmond Scanlon has publicly acknowledged that the company is in negotiations regarding the future of its dairy processing business in Ireland.

Scanlon also gave some official details on the financials of its dairy business, saying it had annual sales of around €900m, but that its profit margins were “much lower” than the wider Kerry Group business.

In a special podcast, the Irish Farmers Journal’s Lorcan Allen and Jack Kennedy discuss the latest developments on the joint venture deal being negotiated between Kerry Group and Kerry Co-op, and assess the likely timelines of when farmers and shareholders will be given detailed information on this joint venture proposal.
