The 25 acre holding in the town land of Ballybaun, close to Abbeyknockmoy and Monivea, had been maintained to a high standard. It was divided into paddocks by well-built stone walls, synonymous it the area. The yard consists of a three-bay, slatted house with the feed passage opening onto the yard, a two bay lean-to storage shed and assortment of traditional farm buildings. There was also an EU direct payment of approximately €2,788.

All in grass and described as a quality farm, it certainly lives up to this description with plenty of interest ahead of the sale and a plethora of bids saw it exceed the asking price of €250,000.

David Moggan reported a total of 32 bids taken on the property and added that the sale price is closer to the €300,000 mark. This he said would represent a record price for land in this area.
