Two small holdings are for sale in Co Meath and will go for auction at the end of the month.

One is in the south of the county at Enfield, the other at the north of the county at Kells.

They are being sold by REA Thomas Potterton and both go for auction on Wednesday 29 September at 3pm.

The bigger holding is the 30ac at Ballnaskea, outside Enfield. It is located on a minor road which lies just off the R159, about 6kms from Enfield and the M4 motorway and also 6km from the village of Rathmolyon. The land is contained in Folio MH17829

According to the auctioneers the land has been in the same family ownership for many years. “It is a fine block of agricultural land in a renowned stock fattening area which has been carefully farmed and which remains completely unspoilt,” auctioneer Thomas Potterton said. He is guiding the land at €8,000/ac.

It’s an agricultural area with abbatoirs, contractors, merchants, Delvin Livestock Market and other service industries all close at hand, he said. The land has a natural water supply and mains electricity is available at the roadside.

To locate the land, take the Trim road from Enfield for approximately 5km. Turn left keeping the Na Fianna GAA Club on your left hand side and continue for a short distance and the land is on the right hand side identified by the agent’s sign.

Fertile land at Kells

The second piece of land is 11ac at Johnstown, Kilskyre, Kells. The land is situated on the R154 Athboy-Kilskyre road. This puts it near the N52 main road, 9km southwest of Kells and 8km north of Athboy.

The M3 Motorway can be accessed at Kells.

The holding is described by the auctioneers as fertile land in a prime farming location. Mains water and electricity are connected. It is guided at €10,000/ac.
