Sold in two lots, the property, located on Monread Road in Naas, Co Kildare, had significant interest from the floor.
Lot number one, a circa 31-acre holding, opened its doors at €350,000. Four keen bidders quickly ensured that the top-quality holding rose swiftly, before settling under the hammer at a nifty €591,000.
Lot number two, a smaller parcel of circa 16 acres, was of similar quality to the first lot. The auction opened at €200,000 and brisk bidding meant it finished up at €303,000. The two lots combined took home €894,000.
Handling the sale, Willie Coonan, of Coonan’s REA, said that the lands were of excellent quality, suitable for all farming purposes. All paddocks were well fenced, with good water supply and were all in permanent pasture. The price tag of €894,000 exceeded all expectations, according to Coonan.
