More than 130,000 farmers applied for the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) by last Monday's deadline. Farmers now have until 31 May to make amendments to their applications, if necessary.
An advance BPS payment will begin to issue to farmers from 16 October.

The 100,000 farmers who applied online automatically qualify for the new pre-checking arrangement as part of the CAP simplification. If there is a problem with an application, the farmer will be notified online and by text message before 13 June. The farmer will then be given one week to respond to this notification to rectify the application without penalties. This should speed up the payment process, according to the IFA.
Amendments can be made either online or by downloading an amendments form here.

An advance BPS payment will begin to issue to farmers from 16 October. This is usually a 50% payment, but the IFA is calling for this to be increased to a 70% advance payment in light of the serious income crisis most farmers are experiencing.
Balancing payments will be made from 1 December onwards.
