Ex-Dairygold boss Jim Woulfe has been appointed chair of Enterprise Ireland, having served as chair of the agency’s body in an interim capacity since last June.

Minister for Enterprise Peter Burke welcomed the appointment by highlighting the “proven track record in corporate governance, strategic leadership and enterprise development skills” that he said Woulfe will bring to the enterprise support body.

Woulfe served as the CEO of Dairygold Co-operative Society, retiring from this position at the end of 2021 having served 42 years with the co-op.

Roles

The roles held by the new Enterprise Ireland chair before assuming the top job in 2009 include the head of HR and head of agri business.

Woulfe is a current member of Bord Bia’s board.

“Jim has already demonstrated strong leadership as interim chair,” Minister Burke said.

“I look forward to working with him as Enterprise Ireland drives the growth of a vibrant, resilient, regionally balanced enterprise sector and supports companies to scale, export and embrace innovation.

“I would also like to thank Jim for his commitment and dedication during his time as interim chair and for his valuable contribution to the board of Enterprise Ireland.”
