Trade could be described as steady across the board. Out of the 140 bullocks for sale a significant proportion were spring 2015-born stores with almost 180kg of a difference between similar age cattle of the same breeds. Taking a conservative price of €1.75/kg, that’s almost €315 of a difference.
Friesian bullocks sold from €210 to €500 with their weight. Hereford and Angus cross bullocks made from €300 to €600 while continental bullocks made from €450 to €700 with the euro per kg.
Sample prices:
There were 75 heifers on offer, with the vast majority being Angus or Hereford cross heifers born on dairy farms in spring 2015. Most of these sold for between €1.90 to €2.07/kg. Heifer prices ranged from €250 up to €675 over the €/kg.

There were 200 calves on offer today. Friesian bull calves sold from €110 to €170, with stronger calves selling for up to €370. Hereford and Angus bulls made from €180 to €330, with runners selling for up to €455. Angus and Hereford heifer calves sold from €130 to €350, with stronger heifer calves making up to €500. Continental bull calves sold from €250 to €450, with older calves selling for up to €650. Continental heifer calves made from €220 up to €450. There were 65 dry cows on offer this week. These made from €50 to €580 with their weight.
