The Farmers Journal's Getting in Touch service has graced our pages for many years, with readers using the service to make friends and find romance.

Getting in Touch evolved over the years and stopped accepting letters, taking ads over the phone instead. However, we've decided to go back to basics and ask our readers to start writing to us again.

Though putting pen to paper hasn't gone out of date entirely, though our new service will allow people to email in their letters.

"We’ve had a great reaction to the idea and want to get it started again. So, instead of having to deal with phone lines, you can send us your details by email, phone or post," said Mairead Lavery, Editor of Irish Country Living. "We will set up a box number for you and direct any replies to you by post. It will cost €30 to place the ad and it will be entirely confidential. The plan is to have the first set of entries next week.
