Aurivo's board has decided to pay a base milk price of 28.46c/l excluding VAT for November, the co-op announced this Wednesday. This is a 1c/l cut compared with the October price, which had already suffered a 1c/l reduction.

The average price paid at real fat and protein content for that month is 35.48c/l, Aurivo added.

"Market returns have weakened considerably in the last few months with sluggish demand," the co-op said in a statement. "Aurivo will keep the situation under review and pay the maximum price possible as market conditions allow."

All major dairy processors have now set their November price, either holding or cutting it.
