Tipperary Mid West Community Radio is celebrating 25 years of broadcasting this week.
The station, which broadcasts on 104.8fm, 106.7fm and online, has a strong community focus and country music plays a central role in its daily output.
“We have lots of celebration plans for these days,” says manager Anne Power.
“There is an open day on Friday 17 April from 10am to 5pm where our listeners are invited to meet the staff and volunteers in a friendly atmosphere with the customary cup of tea. There will be a warm welcome for all who call to see us.”
The silver jubilee concert takes place in Cahir House Hotel next Tuesday, 21 April. The show features Declan Nerney, Michael Collins, Gerry Guthrie, Marc Roberts, Sean Keane and Dermot Lyons, and the Off the Kuff Band. Tickets are €15 each and they are looking forward to big support on the night.
