Regular dance dates, concert shows, guest spots, and tours of Scotland, all combine to keep Johnny busy on the circuit.
The summer season is especially busy with many bookings for the major outdoor shows as well. There has been a burgeoning of the summer festival scene in recent years with many parts of the country promoting high profile shows featuring many of the well known acts. The name of Johnny Brady appears on many of them.
One of the more unusual things undertaken by Johnny in recent years saw him reach new heights. He took part in a parachute jump at Galway airport. “It was an exhilarating experience. It was a tandem jump with an expert in that field from New Zealand. I also went up in a micro-light plane in Carrickmore (Tyrone) at a later date and that was some experience too,” says Johnny.
The annual RTÉ Irish Country Music Awards, in association with the Irish Farmers Journal, takes place this Friday night, June 24.
