Here are a few Netflix Original series that are well worth a watch.
Watch an episode or two, even the whole thing.
No judgement.
The One
It can be a bit tricky to give an accurate description of The One, but, trust us, it’s very good viewing.
The premise is based on two PhD researchers who discover that every person in the world has a genetic match that is their perfect romantic partner.
Setting this up as a matching business has a huge effect on people’s existing relationships, as well as a whole host of other issues and deceptions behind the scenes in trying to get ‘The One’ off the ground.
Firefly Lane
Firefly Lane is another series that is easy to watch and is also very good.
This series follows the unlikely, but seemingly strong friendship of best friends Tully and Kate (Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke).
Although set primarily in their adults lives, each episode contains flashbacks from their teenage years and early 20s.
In adulthood, while still friends, both have taken very different paths.
Tully is a high-flying journalist, while Katie is devoted to her family.
Firefly Lane is based on the book of the same name by Kirstin Hannah.
The Queen’s Gambit
Period drama The Queen’s Gambit has been a big hit with many over the last few months.
It was released on Netflix late last year and received wide acclaim, including being nominated for two Golden Globes.
Beginning in the 1950s and proceeding into the 1960s, it centres on Beth Harmon, an orphan and a chess prodigy.
The series follows her rise in the chess world while she struggles with addiction.
Ginny & Georgia
Another series frequenting Netflix’s Top 10 list of late is Ginny & Georgia.
In fact, it’s one of Netflix’s most-watched series ever.
The show starts with Ginny’s first day at new school, after her mother Georgia decides to settle in a new town after her husband dies.
Ginny is 15, but sometimes more mature than her free-spirited mother.
It’s told in both in-the-moment and through flashbacks of Georgia’s life.
