The new UTVs are called Wolfhound and claim to offer a diesel powered UTV at an affordable price.

Stephen McKenna of Wolfhound said that the entry price is €9,995 (or £7,995 in Northern Ireland) plus VAT and that the versatile farm vehicle comes with a two year warranty.

The Wolfhound is a road legal vehicle designed by British engineers and is built in China. It is unique in that it is a right hand drive UTV. It uses a three cylinder, 1,050cc oil cooled Daihatsu diesel engine which should provide some reliability assurance.

The 29hp engine should have enough power to carry out farm work. It claims an impressive towing rating of 910kg and a payload capacity in the load area behind the cab of 500kg.

The 4x4 continuously variable transmission (CVT) features a high/low gear range with selectable two or four-wheel drive. Wolfhound claims that the UTV is economical, delivering in excess of 12.4km/litre or 35-40mpg, and uses a 25 litre capacity tank.

This new UTV comes with a hard plastic roof, glass windscreen/wiper, winch, half doors, rear wind shield and tow bar as standard. Soft cabin covers and deep thread wider 22mm mud tyres are the only options. The company is seeking to appoint dealers throughout Ireland.
