Doosan has just taken the wraps off its new five-tonne DX57W-7 Stage V compliant wheeled excavator. In addition to a new in-house designed Stage V engine, the DX57W-7 incorporates several new features for increased comfort and connectivity.
Engine
The DX57W-7 is powered by a 57hp (42.5kW) Doosan Stage V engine. It is equipped as standard with the single-tyre configuration. It has an operating weight of 5.88t with a 0.175m3 bucket. A dual-tyre configuration is available as an option. The unit offers two travel speed ranges, with a maximum travel speed of 30km/h.
Telematics
The DX57W-7 features Doosan’s latest ‘Doosan Connect’ system as standard. This provides a telematics management system for the excavator. It works by collecting data from sensors on the machine.
Standard features include a stereo system integrated in the gauge panel with a USB charger. It has the option of a new all round view camera providing 360° views around the machine and ultrasonic detection of obstacles for increased safety. The DX57W-7 is also equipped with an overload warning device as well as safety valves in the boom and dozer blade hydraulic systems.
The undercarriage consists of a rigid, welded frame. Doosan say the routing of hydraulic lines, protection for the transmission and heavy-duty axles make the undercarriage ideal for wheeled excavator applications.
