Trailed mowers
The new EasyCut TC (centre pull) and EasyCut TS (side pulled) mowers lose Krone’s distinctive rectangular frame in favour of a modern curved shape. The frame has been designed so that mowers can lift higher in heavy crops with improved lateral float. Two cutting widths are available – 3.16m (10.3ft) and 3.60m (11.8ft), with the latter only available as a TS model.
Cutterbar suspension is adjusted hydraulically from the tractor’s cab via single-acting spool with a pressure gauge indicating pressure within the nitrogen dampers. Customers can equip mowers with the option of being able to hydraulically adjust cutterbar height.
Mower beds still have Krone’s SmartCut and Safe Cut systems, with quick-change blades offered as standard. The 91cm Collect cross conveyor belt still remains an option.
Two conditioner types are available as before – the well-proven V-steel tine (CV) or the CR roller system available with rubber chevron profiled rollers or the company’s new M-Rolls.
The new 25cm M-Rolls are built to provide a crimping effect on broadleaved crops such as clover and alfalfa given the rollers’ interlocking M-shaped profiles. M-Rolls can be fitted to any CR roller type conditioning systems.
Front mowers
New to the non-conditioner front mower range is the addition of three new models, all without conditioners. Each of the models is available with the option to spec ‘push’ or ‘pull’ types.
The 3.2m F320 is the only model offered with swathing drums. Spaced 145cm apart, they leave compact swaths that can be straddled easily.
Visually, one of the biggest changes to the mowers is the three-point linkage mounting, replacing the more common A-frame method. The company believe this is a more simple solution.
Shared features of the new EasyCut F 320 M, F 320 and F360 M mowers are the new curved styling and stretched curtains which open clear for easy access to the cutterbar. All Krone mower cutterbars are now fitted with SafeCut and SmartCut protection systems.
Push models are mounted closer to the tractor’s front axle, allowing for a more compact design. The absence of its ‘pull’-type counterpart’s suspension and lift system leaves it lighter, having an overall simpler design. Suspension is provided by two large springs that are attached to the mower’s frame back to the toplink, allowing for good ground contouring while link arms can float within the slotted pin holes.
Pull models are suspended in their centre of gravity by ball joints and arms. Hydraulic suspension is standard, meaning ground pressure is easily controlled from the cab. In the event of hitting a foreign object, the mower breaks back and rises upwards. The suspension system offers up to 18° of lateral travel.
All new mowers can be specified with hydraulic folding guards, cameras for increased visibility and additional lighting.
