The vehicle can be controlled through a mobile tablet, which means farmers can supervise the tractor while they tend to other tasks.

Case IH’s concept vehicle is a row crop tractor that uses radar, lidar (light imaging, detection and ranging) and on-board video cameras to sense obstacles that lay in its way. It can stop on its own, send video and audio signals to the farmer and create a new path.

Presenting the machine at the Farm Progress show in Boone, Iowa in the US, Case IH brand president Andreas Klauser said: “This technology will offer our customers greater operational efficiencies for tasks such as tillage, planting, spraying and harvesting.”

The concept vehicle is used to showcase and test new technologies and is not available for sale.
