Fendt believes that electric drives have several advantages over the customary hydraulic and mechanical drives.
The company has reported that its X-Concept tractor, based on a Fendt 722 Vario, is more powerful, efficient and flexible.
It claims that the electric motors are very efficient, the electric current can be distributed with little loss and the drives are simple, dynamic and can be controlled with high precision.
For Fendt, an important part of this tractor is the unique protection concept, with double insulation on the tractor-side components, which guarantees optimum safety for users.
This Fendt tractor uses an AGCOPower EU Stage 3b/Tier 4 Interim emission engine as the power source
The compact size of the four-cylinder diesel engine allows the fitting of the components required for the electric technology, such as the generator, power electronics and wiring, as well as the special heat exchanger.
The generator is located between the engine and the transmission. The system is compatible with all ISOBUS implement controls.
Fendt has been working in close collaboration with its partners in the agricultural machinery industry, including Fliegl Agrartechnik, Krone, Grimme, Lemken, Amazone, Fella and STW, to achieve practical field results from the electric system.
