In 1997, when Paul Flynn and his wife Máire opened The Tannery restaurant in Dungarvan, they put the coastal town on the map as a foodie destination.
In that time, diners from around the country and beyond have travelled to experience Paul’s culinary delights and Máire’s hospitality.
The longevity of their business comes down to exquisite meals using the best of Irish and local ingredients, served in a relaxed setting. This year, Paul will be our guest chef at the ploughing stand, with two slots at lunchtime on Wednesday and Thursday.
His three-course lunch will be inspirational yet very achievable for visitors to perfect at home. And get ready, as Paul will be putting some of the team to work with a fun competition to really test their kitchen skills.
Gardening
Whether you’re an amateur gardener developing your little plot of nature or you’ve got years of experience with a beautiful mature garden, our team from the Irish Garden will be on hand to offer their practical advice.
They’ll be getting their hands dirty giving information on planting bulbs, pruning and composting as well as focusing on autumn tasks that need to be done in preparation for the new gardening season next spring.
There will be plenty of time for Q&A if you need advice on your own garden ahead of winter. So, whether you’re cutting back your summer flowering shrubs, sorting those hedges or tidying your perennial borders, this is a slot that keen gardeners will not want to miss.
Health
What if we told you there was one small change that you could make today that may benefit your health for years to come?
