One of the biggest breeds in attendance at the 16-day National Western Stock Show in Denver are the Herefords. The judging for the breed's national finals has been taking place over the past few days along with some select sales.
Taking the award as overall grand champion for 2019 was BR Belle Air 6011 from Barber Ranch and Cloyer Herefords. This three-year-old bull is no stranger to the stock show having claimed the overall championship two years ago also.
Its sire is BAR S LHF 028, while the dam is BR Belle 4082.
This horned bull secured the grand champion horned male award two days earlier. Standing reserve in that championship was one of Belle Air's sons, EXR Bankroll 8130 ET, owned by Express Ranches.
In the female horned championship, BK Enchanted Points 7038E ET from Moore Cattle Company took the top spot. This young heifer is a daughter of CRR 719 Catapult 109.
Standing reserve to Enchanted was BACC 15U Olivia 747 ET, a ECR Who Maker 210, bred by Sara Sullivan.
Polled
On to the polled section and top spot in the males went to Hoffman Herefords and Express Ranches with H Deberard 7454 ET. This two-year-old bull is sired by UPS Sensation 2296 and out of a Worr Owen Tankeray-bred dam.
Reserve male honours went to KJ BJ Landmark 210 ET exhibited by Brady Jensen.
In the female horned division, grand champion was awarded to NJW 36A 10W Turquoise 22E with the reserve going the way of Bentley London.
