Again crowds will descend on the Blueball site for Ireland’s premier agricultural show, which this year boasts a massive prize fund of €175,000.
Show organisers have not only confirmed a bigger prize fund but a bigger and better event for 2017. The show is again joining forces with AIB to bring the National livestock finals to the show, which this year will see nearly 2,000 livestock in attendance.
Breed finals
Making the livestock show even more special, a number of top beef breed societies have chosen the midlands show as the host for their all-Ireland finals. These are the Charolais, Simmental, Hereford and Limousin. They too have reported record entries, to a top of 180 for the Charolais breed. Due to this increased demand for space and time from breed societies, the show has added a further two show rings.
Attendance this year is set for an all-time high, with 65,000 people expected to pass through the gates. From top quality livestock, to fashion shows and pig agility courses, the 2017 Tullamore show promises a fun filled day for the whole family.
