The Buffalo Farm recently announced it is set to become the first producer of Buffalo mozzarella in Scotland as plans are unveiled for a new dairy plant to be built in Kirkcaldy.
The new 4,000m2 facility will be located at Bankhead of Raith and will include a milking parlour, processing plant and sheds for the new herd of dairy buffalo.
The plans have been unveiled following the Buffalo Farm receiving a grant of over £500,000 from the Scottish Government’s Food Processing, Marketing and Co-Operation (FPMC) grant scheme.
It is hoped work can begin on the new facility this autumn, with the sheds and milking parlour aiming to be completed by early 2019.
