Dairy giant Müller Ingredients has announced it is revoking its promised 1p/l lift in milk price for suppliers in Britain.
It means suppliers will remain on a standard milk price of 26.25p/l for May and June. The company is blaming the price freeze on the impact of COVID-19 on the dairy sector. It is also asking suppliers to cut production by 3% to help avoid oversupplying the market.
Meanwhile, Arla has cut its price for suppliers from May by 0.9p/l, resulting in a price of 28.74p/l for its liquid standard milk. First Milk is holding its member milk price for May at 26.75p/l.
