It was a busy Stirling bull sales with 700 bulls across the breeds under the hammer. The Simmentals broke their highest price record twice in the day, with a new breed record of 28,000gns for Sterling Bacardi’s Hawaii heifer.
The Charolais’ top price was for 12,000gns for Sportsman’s Monarch from Mellor hall farm.
Cheeklaw Pru, a 22-month old Aberdeen Angus heifer, made 20,000gns.
The Aberdeen Angus animal from the Lucas family dispersal is thought to be a breed record for a maiden heifer.
Limousins topped out at 11,000gns with the bull Ronick McKinley from Mains of Thorsk.
The top price paid for a Shorthorn was 12,000gns for Grovewood Jackson from Park farm, Walton Road, Drakelow, who is heading to Kincragie farm at Lumphanan.
