George Mullan, understood to be a close confident of Larry Goodman, has been promoted from plant manager at ABP Clones to CEO of ABP Northern Ireland. The move will see Mullan takeover responsibility for Goodman's two beef processing facilities in Newry and Lurgan and his cold

store business.

During his time at the helm of Clones, Larry heavily backed Mullan, which saw the Clones site develop with a world-class cattle lairage and one of the most advanced boning halls in the country.

Mullan was also part of a high-level team which oversaw the expansion of ABP into Poland.

Mullan's move north of the border will be facilitated by ABP UK operations director Colin Duffy relinquishing responsibility for Northern Ireland.
