This week, Adam Woods goes into detail on the level of investment taking place on the Irish Farmers Journal’s demonstration farm in Tullamore.
It is a hefty figure at almost €1,200 per acre – or equivalent of €80 per acre per annum over the lifetime of the lease. All investment has been aligned to driving grass production and utilisation, and allowing us run the farm at a high stocking rate with minimal labour.
The inclusion of the sheep enterprise has really elevated the cost of fencing.
