DEAR SIR:

I am writing to you re PTO shafts and the dangers of same, which we have been hearing about for 50 years. It is past the time for talking about those killers – what is needed is drastic action, which unfortunately is too late for many families who have suffered because of PTO shafts. You may ask what is the alternative to a shaft turning at the rate of nine times per second? How about a hydraulic motor, two hoses and a sup of oil – danger eliminated, no more shafts (some concrete mixers have those motors fitted). It is time to stop the talking and take drastic action to banish these mutilating killers from farming for ever.
