Snowfall will continue on Friday across Munster, Leinster and parts of Connacht in strong easterly winds. There will be scattered snow showers in the northwest of the country. Remaining cold, with highest temperatures of -1°C to 2°C.
The snow will continue overnight but it will become lighter and the northeasterly winds will ease. Lowest temperatures of 0°C to -3°C, with sharp frost in many places.
Warnings
A red snow and ice warning remains in place for Munster, Leinster and Galway. It is valid from 6am to 6pm today.
A status orange snow-ice warning is in place for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. These counties can expect scattered heavy snow showers and icy conditions during Friday. Again, the warning is in place until 6pm.

Saturday
Snow showers on Saturday will gradually turn to rain or sleet through the day as temperatures improve slightly. Highs of 2°C to 5°C. Easterly winds will continue to decrease but will remain gusty.
Sunday
The cold weather continues through the rest of the weekend, with highest temperatures during Sunday only around 2°C to 4°C. There will be a good deal of dry weather across the south of the country, but wintry showers or some showery rain will affect more northern counties. Widespread frost overnight.
Moving in to next week, it will still be cold but with a slight rise in temperatures to around 4°C to 6°C degrees on Monday. There will be a lot of dry weather through the day, but some occasional showers will still occur.
