Hennessy Auctioneers has a pair of Co Laois holdings going under the hammer in early March. From the same vendor, both holdings will be sold by online auction on Thursday, 6 March at 3pm on the LSL Auction platform.
These land sales will be a good indicator of property prices in the county for the year ahead. The larger of the two consists of 17.4ac at Capoley, Portlaoise, and is prime arable ground situated just off the R425 road, 3km from Portlaoise town.
It is laid out in one block and is divided into two fields, both of which are currently in permanent pasture. There is a guide price of just over €16,000/ac for this roadside holding.
The second holding is located at Cashel, Ballyroan and consists of 12.6ac, described as a mix of arable and pasture land. Similar to the larger holding, it is in one block and divided into two fields. One of these currently has a beet crop while the other is in grass.
Also like the land at Capoley, it fronts onto the R425 road and is 2km from the village of Ballyroan and 7km from Portlaoise. There is an overall guide price of €180,000 on this property.
