It was very much a seller’s mart, with buyers commenting on quality cattle being dear.

There was an exceptional turnout of bull weanlings, with a high proportion over 400kg and many of these making up to and over €1,000/head.

Manager John O’Mahony was very happy with the turnout and the state of the trade, with almost a full clearance. He said: "There are more weanlings from the dairy herds being presented and these are meeting a slightly tougher trade. Bullocks are an improved trade lately as more customers are looking to fill sheds in recent weeks.”
