A spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture told the Irish Farmers Journal that there has been engagement for “some time with competent authorities in China in relation to accessing Irish beef to the Chinese market”.
The spokesperson said: “The process will involve a number of steps, including an inspection of Ireland’s animal and public health control systems by veterinarians from AQSIQ and this initial step is about to commence.”
