Sherry Fitzgerald McMahon have an interesting property at Carrowdotia, Barefield, Co Clare going for public auction on Thursday 30 November.

Totalling 39.5ac, the offering consists of long narrow strips of land which are located to the northern side of Barefield village – just off the old Gort road, the R458. The property is for sale in four lots or in its entirety. Lot 5, the entire, has an Advised Minimum Value (AMV) of €260,000. Some of the land on offer was split by the construction of the M18 motorway and it borders this in places. Ranging in size from an acre to 21ac, they are a combination of good grassland, rough grazing and biodiverse-rich wooded areas.

Wooded area

A little over 12ac and guided at €90,000, the majority of the land in Lot1 is on the left-hand side heading north of the R458. This land is predominantly wooded and quite overgrown.

Additionally, there is a 0.61ac grass field across the R458 that backs onto the motorway. This field is sandwiched between two existing residential properties.

Lot 2 is 0.96ac of good grazing, south on the M18, and is guided at €10,000. Comprising of circa 21ac, Lot 3 is the largest of the lots and has a local access road running through it with most of the land north of this. The land is largely overgrown with some old derelict farm buildings. It has an AMV of €110,000.

Lot 4 contains 4.8ac of good grazing land that is broken into a number of fields which are surrounded by mature hedgerows. Located on the southern side of the M18 and accessed via a local access road near junction 14 (Barefield) of the M18, it has an AMV of €50,000.
