Carbery has cut its base milk price by 0.5c/l and also reduced funding supporting milk price from its stability fund by 0.5 c/l. In effect, as far as farmers are concerned, Carbery has cut its April milk price by 1c/l.

The four west Cork co-ops that supply Carbery will now meet knowing this information and decide a plan of action for each co-op. If the co-ops pass on this full price decrease to milk suppliers, on average this will bring the price to 29.7c/litre ex VAT at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat.

In March, Carbery held the price to the farmer using funds from the stability fund. Most of the other co-ops in Ireland cut by 2c/l.

Barryroe Co-op met on Thursday night and decided to cut its April milk price by 1c/l.

Kerry, Glanbia and Lakeland all met and cut April milk price by 1c/l. Dale Farm and Strathroy cut by 1p/l in the North and Lakeland cut by 0.75p/l in the North.
